What are Chart Palettes

Chart Palettes are sets of data visualization elements usually assigned to chart series in a circular manner. First series gets the first elements in the set, second series the second element and so on. For more series than set elements, we start again with the first element and so on.

The types of Chart Palettes are:

  1. Color Palettes – sets of colors used for some chart’s series.
  2. Hatch Palettes – sets of hatch patterns used for some chart’s series.
  3. Marker Palettes – sets of symbols or images used for chart series markers.

What are Palette Charts

Palette Charts are our original chart types that help you better visualize the elements in a Chart Palette, and decide which to choose for your charts. We display for instance colors and hatches in several different ways.

Our types of Palette Charts are:

  1. Column Palette Charts – for all palette colors or hatches in adjacent vertical bars.
  2. Pie Palette Charts – for all palette colors or hatches in same size pie slices.
  3. Pyramid Palettes – for all palette colors or hatches in same height pyramid segments.
  4. Spiral Palettes – for all palette colors or hatches on a spiral circular surface.
  5. Marker Palettes – for all palette markers on two alternating rows.

How to Change the Color Palette

Manage all Color Palettes in Xtractor Templates. You may change existing palettes or add your own. Select a standard chart size (small, medium or large) and the type of Palette Chart (Column, Pie, Pyramid or Spiral) from the Chart Type drop-down menu.

For your inline or regular chart, change the default color palette assigned to your current theme from the toolbar menu.

How to Change the Hatch Palette

Manage all Hatch Palettes in Xtractor Templates. You may change existing palettes or add your own. Select a standard chart size (small, medium or large) and the type of Palette Chart (Column, Pie, Pyramid or Spiral) from the Chart Type drop-down menu.

For your inline or regular chart, add a hatch palette from the toolbar menu.

How to Change the Marker Palette

Manage all Marker Palettes in Xtractor Templates. You may change existing palettes or add your own. Select a standard chart size (small, medium or large). Marker Palettes can be visualized only with Marker Palette Charts.

For your inline or regular chart, change the default marker palette assigned to your current theme from the toolbar menu.
